Catechists commit to a weekly class of an hour and half. Preparation for the lesson may take thirty to sixty minutes. Materials are provided in the Faith Formation office for use in classes.
Catechists are offered in-service opportunities in the fall of the year. Catechists meet with the Director of Faith Formation throughout the year as needed, for assistance with lesson planning, curriculum, and classroom management.
In order to ensure a safe and loving environment for all students, adults who work with children are asked to complete the Safe Environment Code of Conduct Policies and view a video. Initial background checks are also required.
Members of the Youth Faith Formation and Youth Ministry Committees meet seven times yearly to advise the Faith Formation Director and/or Youth Minister on agenda items.
Vacation Bible School Volunteers offer their time for a week-long session held in June. If you love to build and create, sing and have fun with kids, we need you!
If you would like to volunteer as a catechist, contact Lucy.
